Altrigen provide servers for all purposes, from entry level Small Business Servers to multiple server installations with failover.
All Altrigen server solutions are designed for to suit the clients current business and plans for growth. All servers we install have hard drive redundancy in the form of mirrored drives or a RAID array, and every system has a server operating system and a backup solution, we don't believe in providing a server in name only!
Altrigen provide only branded servers with full warrenties from our business partner vendors - Hewlett Packard, IBM and Fujitsu Siemens.
What is a server and do I need one ?
A server is a dedicated piece of computer hardware which performs specific tasks for a number of networked users.
In a nutshell, a server provides a safe place to store your documents, spreadsheets, files, data, accounting information and everything else that is critical to your business.
Its safe because the information stored is copied / striped or mirrored onto other drives in real time, so that should a drive fail, the server can carry on without any loss of data. In addition, a daily backup is performed to either an online storage device, or tape or disk based media which is then removed from site, providing recovery of all your data in the event of a disaster.
Servers also manage user security (user names, passwords and the files and directories they are permitted to access), updates to operating system software and anti virus packages, store and control email, and perform all the central tasks for all your business network users.
The most cost effective entry level server is one running Windows 2008 Small Business, but please contact Altrigen who will help you make the best decision for your business.

Standard Server
Typically for businesses who have outgrown a SBS server. Usually used in conjuction with an Exchange Server
Exchange Server
Manages, stores and transports email, shared calendars etc
Applications Server
Dedicated server providing resources and storage for database applications, financial applications and MIS solutions
Terminal Server
Server providing remote users a platform to run applications locally, making remote access to MIS and Financial applications operational at a usable speed
