Which backup technique is best for my business ?
There are a number of different backup methods available, and we advise clients which is best for their business based on a number of criteria.
The amount of data the client wishes to backup is a fundamental driver to help us select whether to use online backup, tape or hard drive, together with the regularity of backup.
We recommend a full, daily backup at least, to ensure that you will not lose more than 24 hours worth of data in the event of a serious disaster.
Backups to local media (i.e. tapes or removable hard drives) must be removed from site and stored securely. On line backups must be tested to ensure that they are valid and are being performed within the backup window.
